An experiment has started…

Hello All
As Lenny said - I will have limited access over the next week and half so please have a little patience with my reply rate.
In regards to this experiment:
I would be interested first in knowing how you obtained the One & Only. I got a call yesterday from a customer and they said their bacteria arrived frozen from the company they bought it from because of the cold weather in their area. If the bacteria freezes then unfortunately it is dead. I tell people to consider the bacteria just like their fish and treat them the same way. If the conditions (weather, shipping, water etc) are not good for the fish then these conditions are not good for the bacteria.
Second, what did you dechlorinate the water with (if anything)? Certain name brand water conditioners have a detrimental effect on nitrifying bacteria.
Third, do you have substrate in your tank? I know this sounds crazy but I have had two people call and then mention that their tanks are bare bottomed with just a few decorations. The bacteria need a place to settle and grow and bare-bottom tanks are not conducive to their growth.
Lastly, I do apologize for the product not meeting your expectations. If you would email me a shipping address I will replace the product promptly.
Sincerely
DrTim
