Paula, This simple and easy suggestion is by far one if the best recommendations for sufficiently lighting a small tank such as a 10 gallon, when an otherwise commercially available piece of equipment does not allow for the recommended average of 3 Watts per gallon illumination — or when needing to increase the wattage depending on the light requirements of more light-loving plants. I’d suggest you take advantage of this idea as it should well fit your needs, and is the best I’ve seen in a good while. Ray
